Activity Solar Energy – A Window to the Future

Synopsis

 Introduction

This event is part of our local stakeholder business development program under the Malaysian Building Integrated Photovoltaic (MBIPV) project. The event will answer many questions from the local industry concerning the PV market and technology development, impact of financial crisis, R&D status, what is required to establish PV related manufacturing facilities and concludes with a ‘look into the crystal ball’ on the future of PV technology and market development.
The seminar is organized by PTM and endorsed and supported by MEGTW, MIDA, SEMI, and NCIA.
SEMI is the global semiconductor industry association serving the advanced manufacturing supply chain of the semicon and PV industry.
Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) is a Government organization to accelerate economic growth and elevate income levels in the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER) in the north of Peninsular Malaysia.
Malaysian Industrial Development Authority (MIDA) is the one-stop centre for foreign and local investors to set-up projects in the manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia.
Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water (MEGTW) is the principal catalyst for the development of a dynamic and robust energy, green technology and water industry in the country.
Objectives
The objectives for the event are as follows:
Capacity and awareness building for the Malaysian industry, local industry associations, government agencies and financial institutions on the status and potential of the worldwide PV business and related industries, with examples of real-life cases and lessons learned;
To present local and international success stories in PV business;
To facilitate interested local industry players’ attempts to venture into PV business with international companies and facilitate direct discussions and match-making.
Target Participants
The seminar targets a maximum of 400 participants. Participants are invited from:
Local industry, especially those interested in PV technology and new business opportunities;
PV related companies; Industry associations;
Government Agencies; Financial institutions; Media representatives; and
International participants with an interest to build on potential local manufacturing tie-ups.
The participation is limited to 3 pax per organisation – on a first come, first serve basis.
